Single this Valentine’s Day? Don’t let yourself get down about it. Here are 8 easy suggestions on how to enjoy the holiday solo.
Single for Valentine’s Day?
1.Give Your Girlfriends Flowers!
I did this one year after breaking up with my boyfriend just before the big day. I bought big bunches of gorgeous flowers for two of my girlfriends and some for me too of course! They were totally thrilled and I was too when I saw the appreciative look on their smiling faces.
2. Have Dinner with Friends
Treat yourself well and relish every bite. Indulge in a sumptuous meal and a really good wine. Top it off with some kind of decadent chocolate dessert. Did you know that chocolate stimulates the happiness center of your brain. So don’t hold back on this night!
You can make the night special even if it is girlfriend focused and enjoy a meal and a Valentine’s Day to remember.
3. Celebrate Your Friends and Life
If you like champagne, order a bottle and toast all the good things in your live and each other. Make wishes with your bubbly as you envision your celebration with the right man for Valentine’s Day next year.
4. Send Cards to People You Love
As a child, you may have given Valentine’s Day cards to everyone in your schoolroom, so try this practice again and watch the smiles! Think about the wonderful people in your life right now. Who do you want to express your love to? Your parents, siblings, children? A helpful neighbor? Someone who helps you at work? Brighten the day of the people who matter to you by remembering them on Valentine’s Day. Everyone wants to feel loved, so this year be cupid.
5. Love Your Pets
Lavish them as well on Valentine’s Day to enjoy the sweetness and warmth they share with you every day. Hold them (if they let you!) and snuggle because warmth and affection are good any way you get it.
The love you feel for your pet can fill your heart for sure.
6. Celebrate with Your Children
If you feel like you’re missing out on this romantic holiday, make a big deal for your kids. Prepare their favorites, sneak chocolate hearts into their lunch boxes, or have game night with the family. Do whatever you know your family will love and show how much you appreciate them.
7. Share Your Smile
If you catch a man’s eye who is smiling at you, smile back to acknowledge him. There’s no promise for anything more. It’s just a simple and quick way to make someone’s day and yours too.
Smiling more often is actually good for you! Research has demonstrated that smiling is a natural mood elevator. it can become a really good habit!
You can’t lose when you flash those pearly whites and make it easier for men to approach you vs. scaring them off with a scowl.
8. It’s Just One Day
If none of these suggestions work for you, then keep this happy thought in mind: Valentine’s Day is just one day, once a year. There are 364 other days that don’t includes all the mushy hearts and flowers.
It will pass quickly and then you can go back to life as usual. But as your Love and Magical Life Coach, my advice is that you try something from the list above to enjoy the day. You’ll be glad you did!
Lots of Love,
