Millionaire Matchmaker: Russian Beauty and the Cookie Monster

Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger

Last night’s episode of the Millionaire Matchmaker did not disappoint. One of the very best from this dating coach’s perspective.

Let’s start with the cool Russian babe, Elena, who is a tall, blonde bombshell with money! (Why do they always show the tall Russian women? Heck I’m Russian but I must be from peasant stock at just 5 feet tall!) Since she’s already got tons of cash, she wants a hottie; a man who looks like a model and warms up some of that Russian ice.

Let’s face it – Elena can be very intimidating with her height, her boobs hanging out, her money and then there is the spy-like Russian accent. For those of us who grew up during the cold war – all I can think about is The Man from U.N.C.L.E. TV show.

So, she picks Geronimo, who by day is a respectable real estate appraiser, and by night is an ab-rolling, dancer-stripper and party motivator (what kind of party exactly?).  Their date was going OK until Geronimo does his suggestive dance, removing his shirt, etc. We all saw Patti tell him NOT to do this since it might scare Elena and guess what – he did it anyway! She’s totally turned off by him. Oh well Geronimo, this is one time your war cry wasn’t such a good idea.

Patti did give Elena some lessons on “melting her exterior” as Patti herself puts it. Elena needs some help with her feminine side because even though she’s a bombshell, she’s loaded with masculine energy due to her business success and Russian ways.

Next up Matt, the Cookie Monster as labeled by the Bravo network.  Matt is 47, gay, heir to a diet cookie company, and let’s call it “persnickety”. That’s a nice way of saying that he is an amazingly condescending and superior-thinking man who only wants to date much younger guys. He’s a snob, a bore, rude and sure to remain a very lonely man.

Matt picked Rhett, the perfect example of what I just adore about gay men. He’s fun, smart, up beat, great sense of humor and a certain joy about life that is completely engaging. I have a great friend Scott who has many similar qualities and when he lived in CT – we had the most fun whenever we got together.  Oops – I digressed…

But Matt didn’t appreciate Rhett – nope he was rude and insulting. OK – it happens. They weren’t a match and Rhett didn’t float his boat.  Matt could have been gracious and bowed out gracefully, but instead, acting like the spoiled child he probably was, he raked Rhett over the coals on national TV.

Uhhh, that seems to me like someone who needs to bring others down to raise himself up – strong self-esteem issues. I tell my dating coaching clients this type of bravado is a screaming red flag about a person who will be abusive to keep their own self-esteem elevated. It’s the only way they can do it- sad as that is.  As your dating coach, I’d tell you to run from a man like this.

Now it’s true, Rhett didn’t need to throw the contents of his water glass in Matt’s face, but it sure did make for good TV! Rhett did apologize and admit this was over the top, but come on – it was his TV debut. Perhaps he just wanted to make a splash (oh please forgive me 🙂

In any case, during the debrief in Patti’s office, Matt of course was snotty to Patti. And one thing we fans and viewers all know, DON’T DISS PATTI! She threw him out. So what’s the “Throw Out Tally” this season? Does that make four? Hey Matt, don’t let the door hit you on the butt as you exit stage left back to your lonely cookie kingdom.

More to come – and so much fun!

  1. Hey Cookie – did you mean solicitous scum?

Later in the season I heard she was using actors
I have a firend who’s son was on the show – talk about six degrees to Kevin Bacon! So much for reality in Bravo TV

  2. the date for the cookie diet heir was totally an actor working for bravo, just a petty hope for ratings, patti is a celulitis scum
