How is it possible to be a smart business woman and totally clueless about men at the same time? Sadly, this week’s single millionaire, Robin Kassner, who wants a Hello Kitty wedding, chose poorly by picking Luke as her date. Anthony, the retired cop, was a much better choice because he was really into her and his disappointment read painfully across his face when Patti announced Robin’s choice of Luke at the mixer.
Luke, a very hot-looking plumber, apparently is also a gold digger in training. He was clearly not interested in Robin at all, but felt it was worth a shot – heck, its his Andy Warhol 15-minutes of fame! Who would say no to that? But his idea of a date was a bike ride around the park. Not a bad choice, except Robin wasn’t dressed for exercise. I give her credit, because although uncomfortable, she did take a short bike ride. 🙂
Keeping in mind the show has a crack editing team, one of the first questions Luke asked was, “Do you like to buy your boyfriends presents? A motorcycle would be a good present.” When he brought up the Maserati, Robin said she’d buy him one of those too. Luke admitted Robin isn’t his type, but the more she said, the more he liked her. Yeah – especially when this as the topic of conversation!
Dating Emergency! Ronnie Ann Ryan – Your Dating Coach to the Rescue
Robin, money can’t buy you love. Sex – absolutely, but not love. That’s a waste of your hard-earned cash, no matter how long it lasts, because it’s NOT REAL. This is the sad part of Robin’s dating life (according to Bravo TV). She seems easy-going, easy-to-please, sweet, and woefully lost about men, dating and how mating rituals work. Honey, you may work at a top NY PR firm, but your dating IQ is lacking. (Take my Dating IQ Quiz here and find out your DIQ).
Not surprisingly, Robin and Luke only went on a few dates. And when Patti yelled at her during the debriefing, it was easy to tell Robin was helped to the door, probably in tears.
Robin needs the help of a savvy and professional Dating Coach -ME! In our dating coaching sessions, we would focus on building her self-esteem, opening her eyes to the many misconceptions she has about dating, how to attract a good man and the mechanics of how dating works today.
However, this is TV and TV is business. Robin’s firm, Haute PR leveraged the episode to the max, creating lots of PR for themselves. They made it to Us Weekly magazine and an interview by Johanna Barr from NBC. Robin was the consummate professional, only saying our favorite TV matchmaker is tough as nails and tells it straight. So true.

Ronnie, I agree with your assessment. The cop would have been a much better match. The fact that Robin told Patti that she enjoyed that date (really???) and wanted to go out with him just shocked me. Beyond the motorcycle and Maserati talk, he actually told her on the date “I am an asshole.” How much clearer does a guy have to be to get the message? Obviously she couldn’t see beyond his good looks. I don’t understand her promoting this episode for her business. I wouldn’t hire her. My 2 cents, Felicia
